the sustainables is an online store for products intended to reduce one time use plastic consumption. We offer snack bags and bowl covers made from recycled PET bottles with fashionable prints.

the sustainables began selling in June 2019 and since then we kept growing revenue year after year. Here as follows there is our last 3 year revenue:

We don't only sell on Shopify but on other platforms like Avocadostore and B2B platforms like Ankorstore and Orderchamp.

The business is completely automatised so that the new owner would just need to focus on strategy and business growth. Differently from other startups of our size we have external companies taking care of fulfillment, marketing and a part time employee taking care of Social Media. This has impacted the net margin but offers profitability with the new owner ready to grow the business. We boothstrapped the business (while both working in a full time job) with only €5.000 and never took on any debt, with the business being profitable it can show to the new owner that it won't require a lot of time to take over and grow.

The sustainables is at a very good growth point. The company exists already since 3 years and the revenues kept on growing steadily with 4.749 customers up to today (01.06.2022) and a staggering 11,41% returning customers.

  • Expansion Potential:
    We definitely see a lot of opportunities in expanding the reach in Germany as well as expanding to other countries in the mid-long term. In these first 3 years we worked on automising the business as much as possible so that the new owner can take care of expanding the business and not focus only on administrative tasks.
  • Support & Training:
    We will support the new buyer in the transition process introducing her/him to all the stakeholders. We will provide training for all tools/processes in place.
  • Reasons for selling:
    Me and my partner decided to look for a buyer because we are too focussed on our current projects and lack the time and resources to make the sustainables grow. I received more responsibilities in my full time employment and Esther is embarking on a fully new project. We left Germany in order to move to Spain at the beginning of this year. With the move to a new country we had a priorities change and decided to give our "Baby" away (the sustainables has been our first company).
